Important: NetNewsWire 6 is out now.

WWDC is an online-only event again this year1.

I’ve never attended in person, but I thought this year it’d be fun to fly to San Jose, virtually, in Microsoft Flight Simulator. It’s a long way—almost 13,700km direct from Singapore. As a route, it can be done with one stop. That, though, is not very interesting.

So to break it up a little, and to give it an Apple-developer flavour, I’ve created a new flight plan—totalling 30,379km across four continents—based on the location of some of the NetNewsWire developers.

It starts Down Under and heads west:

  • Sydney, Australia
  • Singapore, Singapore
  • Coimbatore, India
  • Berlin, Germany
  • Williamsburg, Virginia, U.S.
  • Montreal, Canada
  • Toronto, Canada
  • Sarnia, Canada
  • Centerville, Ohio, U.S.
  • Chicago, Illinois, U.S.
  • Arlington, Minnesota, U.S.
  • Saint Cloud, Minnesota, U.S.
  • Seattle, Washington, U.S.
  • San Jose, California, U.S.

There are some long-haul flights in there, but also the chance for some general aviation around the U.S. and Canada.

I intend to stream the whole trip on YouTube or Twitch.
